About Us

We’re a community of passionate veterinary professionals committed to providing truly exceptional care. We’re set on building something extraordinary: creating the most forward-thinking and innovative place in the veterinary industry. We’re always looking for people who aspire to stand out in their field, and it’s this vision and enthusiasm that forms the foundation of how we work. Our mission to deliver progressive, around the clock care means our employees have the very best equipment and treatment options available, including in-house MRI machines and state-of-the-art operating theatres. We provide ongoing support to our teams, both in practice and through our dedicated training centre. This empowers you to get the very best from our advanced equipment while being on your journey to veterinary excellence.

The Role

We are looking for a Head Veterinary Nurse to join our Mill Hill practice. This role would be suitable for a Registered Veterinary Nurse but a 3rd year student may be considered. Previous experience working in a small animal practice is required.

The role will involve all aspects of nursing as well as the day-to-day running of the practice. This position provides you with the opportunity to develop nursing clinics and use your initiative to promote new ideas; more responsibilities will form part of this role with full support being provided by the nursing team. As a Head Veterinary Nurse, you will be responsible for a variety of nursing duties as well as sharing best practice with your team and helping to support and develop the student nurses in your practice.

All of our head nurses are provided with dedicated support from our head-office; here the stress of managing your rota, dealing with recruitment, H&S, practice standards, marketing (and much more!) is taken care of, and while there are still admin duties involved in your role, this support will allow you to spend more time managing your team and doing what you love, nursing!

You will be working 40 hours per week with the standard 1 in 4 weekend shifts as well as a fair share of bank holiday and on call.

What we’ll offer you! Competitive salary, dependant on experience, generous CPD allowance and in-house CPD available, on-going training is provided as relevant to your role, RCVS and VDS fees paid, 25 days paid annual leave, Exclusive company discounts and rewards. You will be in a friendly, supportive environment within a rewarding role. Medivet is growing rapidly and it is an exciting time to join us - we encourage growth and development within your role and are truly committed to help our Medivet community achieve their goals.

The Branch

Our Mill Hill practice has a Lead Vet, a Head Nurse and an SVN and has been part of Medivet since 1989.

The practice is equipped with one consult room, theatre, in house lab, dentistry facilities, x-ray, prep area and benefits from a separate cat ward. Feeding in to our 24-Hour Hendon hospital where the exceptional care for your patients is continued out-of-hours, you also have access to advanced imaging such as Digital X-Rays, Endoscopy, CT and MRI.

Mill Hill Broadway station is a short walk away and Edgware tube station is a 25-minute walk.
