Senior Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon - Ledbury area of Herefordshire. Full Time.

A Veterinary Centre who are distinguished and well known for their provision of the highest standard of veterinary care for pets, farm animals and equine as well as the odd indigenous wildlife and exotic animal are now looking for an extra Vet to join their 5 Vet team. This practice are equipped and able to cover all aspects of animal healthcare in a gentle and compassionate environment using their specially designed large and small animal facilities. The practice act as a Vet Nurse and Animal Nurse Training Centre offering specialist and tailored opportunities to the staff under their remit and ensure each and every individual get their fair share of variety and a case load which is never dull!

Their facilities only include the best bespoke equipments such as:
A dental suite with all the trimmings.
An ECG machine
Purpose built kennels for pets of all shapes and sizes.
Climate controlled wards which are filled with pheromones.
Intensive care oxygen unit.
As well as all the the latest, state of the art, blood testing machines, Urine testing and in-house microscopy, an Ophthalmology Room, In-house pharmacy, Theatres, Ultrasound suits and an X-ray and imaging room - this means they keep all procedures and testing on site allowing a better continuity of care and a lot less need for referral.

The Role:
4 days a week
1 in 3 weekends Sat plus on call
1 night on call a week.

You would be required to provide ongoing support in the provision of excellent patient services as well as assisting in the efficient running of the practice and ensure all communication and clinical protocols are delivered and maintained. Leading by example and practising high standards of service for the practice's clients and care through examination, medical and surgical treatment of their animals. Supporting and maintaining a good working atmosphere, showing respect for all staff and leading the professional team for all animals under their care.

The Candidate:
On this occasion the practice are looking for an individual with a bit of experience, someone who has been working in practice for at least 3 years would be an ideal fit for this team. You will have a progressive and enthusiastic attitude and be keen to uphold the reputation, care and standards of the practice as they progress. They should have considerable mixed practice experience, ideally incorporating small animal, large animal and equine experience, as well as having a positive and supportive approach to all other colleagues. Clinical, organisation and communication skills should be of a high standard.
