Provide advice to government on wild animal welfare
The Animal Welfare Committee is an expert committee of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Scottish and Welsh Governments. This is your chance to use your knowledge and expertise in animal welfare to provide expert advice that makes a contribution to Government policy in a fast-moving environment.
You’ll come to us with extensive knowledge and experience of animal welfare needs, including behavioural, environmental and social needs, as well as housing and husbandry requirements, for wild animals kept in domestic and other non-zoo environments. You’ll have current practical working experience, ideally of more than five years, with captive wild animals and the ability to put your views forward clearly and cogently both in writing and orally.
