Provide advice to government on companion animal welfare
The Animal Welfare Committee is an expert committee of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Scottish and Welsh Governments. This is your chance to use your knowledge and expertise in animal welfare to provide expert advice that makes a contribution to Government policy in a fast-moving environment.
You’ll come to us with significant current practical working experience with companion animals (e.g. dogs, cats, horses or other non-farmed vertebrate animals), including practical knowledge and experience of the ways companion animals are kept either in private ownership or commercially.
You’ll have extensive working knowledge and an active interest in animal welfare and the ability to put your views forward clearly and cogently both in writing and orally.
