Veterinary Surgeon

Our rural practice needs a dynamic veterinary surgeon to join our mixed vet team to help with an expanding caseload and assist with an exciting new teaching partnership with The Royal Veterinary College. Hertfordshire based, Hammond Vets covers a broad area both clinically and geographically and provides excellent quality care to farm, equine and smallholding clients in a 50%/40%/10% split respectively.

The ideal candidate would have some experience however, exceptional new graduates with a strong “can do” attitude would be considered. Candidates must be willing to be involved in the clinical teaching of final year RVC undergraduates and those with previous teaching experience will be at an advantage. Excellent communication skills are essential and will enable the best candidate to build relationships with our clients, staff and RVC students.

CPD is encouraged and funded and those who would be interested in a certificate could be accommodated. 

To support our wide range of clinical skills we have digital x ray, Easi-scanner, gastroscope, laboratory, post mortem facilities, in house facility for farm animal procedures and a small theatre.

Duty rota 1 in 3 weekends and 3 weeknights in 2 weeks. Salary commensurate with experience and discussed at interview. Vehicle provided for business use.
