Small Animal Ultrasonographer – Referral - UK

ChesterGates Veterinary Specialist is a CVS multi-disciplinary referral centre in the North West of England offering referral services in a wide range of disciplines including Internal Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, Orthopaedics, Neurology, Cardiology, Anaesthesia and Dermatology. The hospital is located just outside the City of Chester and offers excellent transport links to major cities including London, Birmingham, Glasgow & Edinburgh. Liverpool and Manchester airports are both nearby and offer convenient access to domestic and international destinations. Cheshire is a beautiful county and lies within easy reach of the coast, mountains and other areas of outstanding natural beauty such as the Lake District, Yorkshire Moors and Peak District.

The team of almost 100 veterinary professionals work together to deliver the very best in client and patient care. The imaging team consists of radiographers, dedicated nurses and a Specialist Diagnostic Imager via the CVS teleradiology service. ChesterGates is a partner practice with University of Surrey School of Veterinary Medicine providing us with the opportunity to support and encourage those aspiring to join the profession.

The hospital has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment and imaging facilities include Siemens 1.5T Magnetom Essenza MRI, 16-slice Siemens Somatom Scope, GE Logiq S8 ultrasound, digital radiography, fluoroscopy and PACS. We also have a dedicated night service and a first opinion practice on site and benefit from CVS Group support functions such as finance, HR, Health & Safety and IT.

We are recruiting an experienced small animal ultrasonographer to work in our imaging department. The ideal candidate should be MRCVS registered, have further education or qualification in ultrasonography (but not essential), and be sufficiently experienced and knowledgeable in ultrasonography techniques to be able to take ultrasound-guided tissue samples.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a challenging and interesting role to enhance their skills and work alongside Specialist clinicians in a referral environment.
