Shrewsbury Meole Brace Vets4Pets

Surgery Information / Job Description

If you’re an enthusiastic and client-focused Vet, looking for a position where you can grow and develop, Shrewsbury Meole Brace Vets4Pets could be the perfect practice for you!

We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and well-established team at our modern, well equipped practice. Shrewsbury is a pretty border market town ideally located within easy reach of larger cities such as Birmingham, yet also near to the Shropshire Hills and Welsh mountains for lovers of the outdoors.

You’ll be joining practice Partners, Jonathan Benson (Vet) and Kat Sonley (Nurse/Practice Manager), along with their fantastic team of 4 Vets, 5 Nurses and 3 Receptionists. Jonathan graduated from the University of Edinburgh 20 years ago and Kat has a wealth of nursing experience. Both Partners are passionate about supporting and developing their colleagues and encourage a good work/life balance.

We have been in Shrewsbury for 15 years, recently relocating into the Pets at Home store to enable us to continue to grow the business. This is an exciting time to join us, due to the combination of our anticipated growth and stable team (many of our colleagues have been with us for years!).

Working with us, you’ll enjoy an expanding, loyal client base with a varied case load. For the successful candidate, CPD is strongly encouraged, making this a perfect opportunity for you to expand your skills and knowledge and possibly undertake further studies.

Person Specification

You will ideally be able to work 15-20 hours per week. The ideal shift pattern would include 3 mornings per week and 1 in 5 weekends (but no OOH!). For the perfect Vet, we are of course happy to negotiate these hours, as long as you are happy to contribute to the weekend rota.

Ideally, you will have good general surgical and medical skills, and be confident in a sole charge capacity. We are, however, able to consider a new graduate through our Graduate Programme.

Benefits

You will receive the full support of an experienced Veterinary team and certificate holder, as well as a full CPD package. We also offer:

  • Competitive salary

  • Professional membership paid for (RCVS, BVA, VDS)

  • Career progression

  • Exclusive discounts and benefits

You will be joining a practice where our Veterinary Partners have full clinical freedom with the support and benefits of working for the Vet Group.

We are an Equal Opportunities Employer.

For further information or to apply please email Jonathan Benson by clicking the apply button or telephone 01743 264040.
