Purosearch are working with an extremely friendly mixed practice in rural Tiverton, Devon. They are looking for an enthusiastic and New Graduate Vets for internships roles. The practice offers good facilities, including digital x-ray, ultrasound and in-house laboratory, and they offer their clients nurse appointments at the surgery.
The Role:
Starting in July/August 2019. Genuine mixed practice with 13 vets and full support team.
Fixed term contract of 364 days - the intern programme will provide a structured education and experience over 12 months, which may lead to permanency, but will certainly provide the grounding for a future career in veterinary practice. Some of the veterinary team are specialists, and some generalists. Some have gained European diplomas, and some are currently studying - so you are truly learning from the best!
During this period, the Intern will be expected to work:
13 Weekends, comprising Friday 1800 to Monday 0900
50 weekday nights Monday to Thursday inclusive), comprising 1800 to 0900 the next morning
2 bank holidays
240 weekdays (Monday to Friday).
This effectively equates to 4 weeks holiday per year, plus most bank holidays, with a duty rota of one in four nights and weekends.
Rewards:
Use of practice vehicle.
8 days of formal CPD to be arranged with the Director, including course fees, accommodation and subsistence (Generally attendance at London Vet Show, VetSouth, BCVA Congress, BCVA Foundation Course, VDS Communication course for New Grads etc etc.)
VDS cover provided.
Practice based membership of BVA, BSAVA and BCVA
Decent salary for an internship - maybe one of the best!
Accommodation will not be provided, although it may be possible to use the flat in Tiverton at a subsidised rent of £100 per week to include all services.
