About the opportunity

A unique opportunity exists for a veterinarian who will deliver and further develop undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Veterinary Pathology for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Animal and Veterinary Biosciences programs, as well as build research in the discipline and engagement with the professional community. These activities are facilitated by participation in the School’s Veterinary Pathology Diagnostic Services, which provide a range of diagnostic services across the disciplines of veterinary anatomical pathology, clinical pathology, cytopathology, microbiology and molecular biology. The School is well supported by specialist level veterinary anatomical pathologists, highly skilled general pathologists, microbiologists, molecular biologists and technical staff and has recently upgraded necropsy facilities and clinical pathology laboratories (PC2 facility), an established Laboratory Management System and recent capital investment in laboratory analyzers. The position is based at the Camperdown campus, with interactions with the Camden campus expected.

  • A veterinary degree and is registerable as a Veterinary Practitioner in NSW
  • PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline or other higher professional qualifications appropriate to their discipline;
  • A developing research profile evidenced by original, high-quality and independent research in the discipline or area of expertise.
  • Experience in teaching and learning, as evidenced by participation in team teaching within an established program and experience in teaching in a variety of settings.
  • Experience in veterinary anatomical pathology.
