OOH Emergency and critical care Night Vet required for small animal hospital in the North East of England.
Due to expansion, we have a vacancy for an additional Night Vet. The role will be based in our hospital status practice in Gateshead where we provide OOH services for our own clients and a number of local practices.
The following rota patterns are available, please specify what option you are interested in when you apply:
Full Time: 7 on 7 off (Fri-Thurs) – involves 1:2 weekends
Part time option 1: - involves 1:4 weekends
Week 1: Fri, Sat, Sun
Week2: off
Week 3: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu
Week 4: off
Part time option 2: - involves 1:4 weekends
Week 1: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu
Week 2: off
Week 3: Fri, Sat, Sun
Week 4: off
The role is supported by an excellent team of dedicated OOH qualified nurses experienced in small animal emergency and critical care.
The hospital has excellent facilities including digital radiography, digital dental radiography, flexible and rigid endoscopes, in house lab including EPOC, slit lamp, Tonopen and an excellent ultrasound machine with doppler. The hospital is equipped to perform most soft tissue, orthopaedic and endoscopy surgeries.
The caseload is sensible and varied and would be ideal for those wanting time to study towards further qualifications.
The ideal candidate will be MRCVS registered with a strong interest in emergency critical care and a passion for providing excellent patient and client care. Candidates should be able to work up medical and surgical emergency cases independently.
The package includes a very competitive full time salary of up to £50,000 (pro rata and dependent upon experience), equivalent of 5 weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays, RCVS, BVA and VDS fees paid and discounted veterinary treatment. CPD is encouraged and funding of further qualifications will be considered.
