Fixed Term (12 months)
We have a vacancy for a Veterinary Investigation Officer at SRUC Veterinary Services based at Craibstone, Aberdeen. The position is part-time (0.6 FTE), and fixed term for 1 year in the first instance.
This position will complete a team of four VIOs that work to deliver effective animal health surveillance across the North East of Scotland.
Close liaison with veterinary practitioners and farmers is the key aspect of the role, delivering diagnostic support through telephone advice, laboratory interpretation, post mortem examinations and on-farm investigations.
The North East of Scotland has a thriving agricultural industry with beef, sheep, pig and a smaller dairy sector all important to the area. The position would ideally suit an individual with an existing interest or specialism in cattle, sheep or pig production looking to work in a rewarding role.
Applicants with at least 2 years in farm animal practice that are looking for a new opportunity for development are also encouraged to apply.
Closing date: 21st May 2019
