Equine Practice and Hospital
The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies is seeking an experienced equine veterinary surgeon for the position of Clinician in Equine Practice from July 2019 for at least 6 months to cover a period of maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity to take an integral role in our equine first opinion service, based at the Equine Hospital on the Easter Bush Campus, just outside Edinburgh.
As part of a clinical team covering all aspects of a very varied equine practice, you will play a key part in patient care, client care and education; and also be involved in the delivery and assessment of the BVM&S undergraduate teaching programme.
You will have access to an extensive range of high-quality mobile diagnostic equipment along with the backup of impressive facilities within our Equine Hospital. Interaction with Specialist colleagues across the range of equine disciplines is encouraged; this will give you the support and stimulation you need to develop your interests and ambition.
At the time of appointment you must be registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Further postgraduate qualifications, while desirable, are not essential. A genuine interest in academic clinical practice is indispensable.
For an informal discussion of the post please contact Ms Louise Cornish (Louise.Cornish@ed.ac.uk).
Telephone: 0131 650 6253.
Closing date: 19/04/2019
