Wear Referrals is an established multi-disciplinary referral practice based in an award winning, purpose-built specialist veterinary hospital in the North East of England, dedicated to delivering clinical excellence with outstanding patient care.
Due to ongoing expansion we are currently looking for new Interns to join our rotating internship programme for a 12-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of then continuing into a specialist second year internship and a residency programme.
The ideal candidate should be dedicated, ambitious, hardworking, with excellent communication skills and already hold a veterinary degree registerable with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Applicants should ideally have post graduate experience in first opinion small animal practice or equivalent, or have already completed a 12 month internship, although consideration will also be given to exceptional recent graduates.
The internship will include all referral disciplines, as well as anaesthesia, rehabilitation, emergency and critical care and out of hours. This will give interns the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in all aspects of small animal medicine, working with leading specialists in each discipline.
Involvement in clinical research, CPD and externships is actively encouraged and supported by a generous CPD budget and paid leave package. This is complimented by Journal Clubs, M & M meetings, in-house specialist lectures, seminars and small group teaching. We offer our interns the opportunity to assist our veterinary surgeons and specialists and not just observe from the sidelines.
