The City of London Corporation is seeking to recruit an able, hardworking, qualified Portal Official Veterinarian and Member of RCVS to join our team of eight OVs.

Working as part of a team of 8, this is a dynamic and exciting role. You will predominately be working at the ports of London Gateway and Tilbury in Essex, carrying out the necessary checks and inspections on Third Country Products of Animal Origin as required under the Veterinary Checks Regime.

You must be a member of the RCVS and be a qualified Red and White Meat OV and Portal OV. We are looking for an individual with auditing experience and an interest in Veterinary Public Health will be an advantage. You need to be self-motivated and flexible in your approach to work and above all you will also have excellent communication, IT and time management skills.

The post is for 35 hours per week Monday to Friday with an additional Saturday on a 1 in 7 rota.

Own car is essential.
