We are looking for an enthusiastic veterinary surgeon to join our dedicated small animal clinical team at our RCVS Accredited Hospital, located in central Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, only 20 miles from London, on the edge of the Chiltern hills.

Hampden Veterinary Hospital and its predecessors has been serving the pet owners of Aylesbury and the surrounding area for over 80 years it was the first hospital to gain RCVS accreditation, this has recently been renewed.

The Hospital was purpose built in 2009 and provides a modern fully equipped facility with three operating theatres, digital X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy and a superb in-house laboratory staffed by qualified lab technicians. The Practice undertakes its own orthopaedic surgery including TPLO Operations. The Practice is very friendly and supportive, providing an excellent environment to develop your general veterinary and surgical skills. We are also a registered VN Training Practice.

Our Hospital's primary focus is the care of in patients undergoing surgical or investigative procedures and is supported by our four-local branches situated around Aylesbury and a nearby village.  From these, pets are referred to the Hospital for inpatient procedures.

To provide the best continuity of care, vets are assigned to each branch surgery and follow their cases through to the Hospital for inpatient care. To ensure we provide the best local care possible to our clients and their pets, we provide our own Out of Hours service staffed by our own dedicated night team.

Aylesbury has excellent road and rail access to both city and rural pursuits, within easy reach of London and Oxford.

Job Details: 

Salary: generous package, commensurate with experience and  qualifications

Hours Full time notional 4.5 days per week plus time off in lieu for week end work.

CPD is strongly encouraged. An allowance and time away from work is provided.

Holiday initially 28 days, increasing to 33 days pa.

Weekend rota 2 in 8.

The Ideal Vet:

You will be enthusiastic with excellent client care skills, be able to build strong trusting relationships with our clients and be able to articulate clear treatment advice and options. You need to be able to work within our clinical and non-clinical teams, and to proactively help with the development of our Practice. It is important that you want to develop as a vet we are looking for a clinician with a particular interest in medicine whilst maintaining your surgical skills.
