About the opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists, at highly motivated Senior Lecturer level, who is Education focused. This is a specialised category of academic engagement reserved for talented educators with a passion for, and demonstrated excellence in, pedagogical practice and design. A Senior Lecturer (Education focused) is expected to make significant contributions to teaching and learning within their School/ Faculty and engage in educational leadership at School, Faculty or University level. A Senior Lecturer (Education focused) is expected to dedicate the majority of their contribution to education (up to 70% - or 80% by mutual agreement - of their academic workload allocation.

This position achieves that through leadership and excellence in teaching of veterinary surgery in the clinical and didactic settings within the Sydney School of Veterinary Science (SSVS). A large proportion of the practical and clinical teaching in the discipline of veterinary surgery will be performed at the Camden campus of SSVS. Leadership, coordination and enhancement of the practical veterinary surgery curriculum within the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program of the SSVS will be a significant component of the role.

About you

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Veterinary Surgery.
  • Ideally, registration as a Veterinary Surgical Specialist through the Australian Veterinary Boards Council.
  • Degree in Veterinary Science (e.g. BVSc) or Veterinary Medicine (e.g. DVM) that is registrable with the NSW Board of Veterinary Practitioners.
  • Acknowledged as applying clinical expertise to enhance students learning experience.

 

 

The appointees will contribute to academic scholarship, research excellence and community service at the University of Sydney.
