Senior Clinician (Surgical)
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Clinician (Surgical) to join the team at RSPCA Newbrook Farm Animal Hospital which is located in Frankley, Birmingham; just off the M5. The 72 acre site was subject to a £13M investment in 2011 to create a flagship 24 hour Hospital and Animal Centre.
The Hospital has two theatres, two imaging rooms, six cat / dog wards, a dedicated isolation facility and is well-equipped with diagnostic equipment; digital x-ray, endoscopy, colour doppler ultrasound and in-house lab.
We are seeking a candidate to help lead and develop the surgical service offered by this friendly, enthusiastic and dynamic team which currently consists of 6 vets, 20 RVNs and nine support staff. The position would suit an experienced and ambitious vet who wishes to work alongside the Hospital Director with the aim of diversifying our surgical caseload within a progressive and supportive animal welfare charity. The candidate should be a surgical all rounder; able to manage complex trauma cases (which often require significant soft tissue and orthopaedic expertise) whilst developing surgical scope of service we offer to our Inspectorate, Branch and Animal Centre partners.
The successful candidate will:
• be a veterinary surgeon registered with RCVS
• hold (or be studying towards) certificate level further qualification
• be able to demonstrate leadership of a veterinary team
• be able to work within a rota pattern
If you are passionate about animal welfare, want to work in an environment where your performance is judged on successful animal outcomes and where you will be able to fully utilise and develop your surgical skills then this job is for you!
