Surgery Information / Job Description

Blackpool Squires Gate

By joining our Blackpool Squires Gate practice based in the busy Pets At Home store close to Lytham St Annes, you’ll become part of an established and highly respected veterinary practice where client care means everything. The team play an active role in the community, enjoy excellent customer feedback and want to talk to highly skilled and experienced, small animal veterinary surgeons looking to step up to Clinical Director with partnership potential in the future.

We have the toys you might expect including operating theatre, digital x-ray, in house lab, ultrasound and dentistry and we’re happy to invest in more to allow for the development of specialist interest areas.

The role is based on 40 hours a week, includes shared weekend work but no OOH, achieving a very important work/life balance. Sole charge is clearly expected in this role and of course, at this level, you’ll get the chance to be involved in shaping the future direction of the clinic. We have a sister practice who can provide clinical and advisory support as and when required.

If you love veterinary medicine, and want a practice that puts the patients first, that cares about you, and wants to support you becoming the vet lead with clinical ownership, then come and join this very happy and passionate team.

Person Specification

This doesn’t mean you’ll just be ‘directing’ the team; you’ll be leading with your sleeves rolled up and operating as Lead Vet with the support of a motivated and collaborative team. Consults are 20 minutes as standard allowing more comprehensive investigations and rapid case work-ups, providing our clients with the best possible care we can.

Benefits

This is a young practice and so some sole charge will be expected. However this will also allow the successful applicant the opportunity to be actively involved in developing the practice and any future direction. We are also able to offer clinical and advisory support from our established thornton-cleveleys practice as well as through the wider vet network.

CPD is actively encouraged, Certificates paid for, excellent salary, contributory pension and other benefits await.
