The Faculty of Natural Sciences III, Institute for Agricultural and Nutritional Sciences, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, invites applications for a
“Animal Health Management”
The candidate should represent the specific field of animal health management in research and teaching at the Institute of Agricultural and Nutritional Sciences.
The announcement is directed at veterinarians as well as agricultural scientists.
We seek an individual with a suitable professional career, recognized scientific publications and experience in farming hygiene, applied reproductive physiology, animal health care and disease diagnosis, particularly on the herd scale. The necessary skills in anatomy, physiology and health care of farm animals are required. In addition to teaching agricultural sciences the candidate is expected to teach students of nutritional sciences the production and quality assessment of animal-derived food including food hygiene and microbiology.
The focus of the animal science research of other professors in the faculty is on behavioural physiology, stress biology, genome analysis and markerassociated selection as well as on breeding methods, estimation of breeding values, animal nutrition including feed sciences, nutritional diseases and dietetics. The candidate`s research should be focused accordingly.
Successful candidates are expected to have the following qualifications: PhD and post-doctoral experience at a university or equivalent research institution, with a reputation as an active member in the international academic community, habilitation or equivalent qualification in the relevant field. The applicant must have excellent research and teaching skills as demonstrated by both the acquisition of external funding and by his/her teaching record. The candidate should be able to demonstrate both a successful professional career and publication record and, in particular, show relevant experience in teaching and research.
