The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University (TAHMU) is a state-of-the-art veterinary facility with a wonderful team of highly skilled professionals. We are passionate about advancing veterinary medicine and developing the skills of those committed to making a difference, while supporting the team around them.
With more than 250 staff throughout the various sections of the hospital and across our farms, TAHMU offers great diversity within its roles.
Not only is TAHMU a large-scale multidisciplinary hospital, but it is also directly linked to the only veterinary school in Western Australia. Every opportunity within our hospital is viewed as a learning and teaching opportunity, with our primary mission being to train the veterinary professionals of the future.

Within our Small Animal Service, we have several dedicated teams, specialising in a variety of disciplines, including surgery, medicine, anaesthesia, and critical care.
Our hospital offers a multidisciplinary referral service providing a streamlined team approach to referred cases. With state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, along with our highly skilled team members, The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University can provide the range of medical support and care that your pet needs.
We also have an Emergency and Critical Care team, that is available 24/7.
Large Animal Services
Our Large Animal Service has teams dedicated specifically for Equine and Farm Animals.
The large animal team offers referral service, as well as first opinion consults within our hospital and as a part of the ambulatory service. With a new advanced imaging suite, state-of-the-art facilities, and equipment, along with our highly skilled team members, TAHMU can provide the range of medical support and care that your large animal needs.
We also have an equine emergency team, that are available 24/7.
Other Services
Pathology Services
Our clinical pathology team are now offering a full service to TAHMU and several external clinics, while our anatomic pathology team look after the necropsy service that is offered for legal and insurance purposes across small and large animals.
Diagnostic imaging services

Anaesthesia services
We have the largest dedicated veterinary anaesthesia team in Western Australia. Our anaesthesia team combined have over 275 years of experience, from all around the world.
Not only are the team involved with cases in our hospital, but they also spend each day contributing to training the next generation of veterinarians, as a part of the School of Veterinary Medicine.
Blood bank
We operate a fully stocked dog and cat blood bank program, providing onsite small and large animal veterinary patients with the best possible transfusion care.
