Highcroft Veterinary Referrals and Manchester Veterinary Specialists

We are excited to offer this three year clinical training post that will be equally divided between Highcroft Veterinary Referrals in Bristol and Manchester Veterinary Specialists (MVS), Manchester on a 6 month rotation.  You will be supervised and supported by our five surgical diplomats to prepare you for the ECVS diploma examinations after completion of the programme.

Both centres are Specialist led, referral only hospitals.  MVS offers Specialist orthopaedic and anaesthesia services.  Highcroft Veterinary Referrals offers a broad range of Specialist veterinary referral services including internal medicine, oncology, soft tissue surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopaedics, anaesthesia, imaging, dermatology, physiotherapy, emergency and critical care. Both centres have  state-of-the-art equipment and highly experienced nursing teams which means that we receive cases from all over the country and give the assurance of exceptional care to all of our patients.

Personal specification for application

A proactive, professional approach and a positive attitude at all times,  together with outstanding interpersonal skills, an ability to stay calm under pressure, great team work skills, and a commitment to practising the highest standards of veterinary medicine and patient care is required.

If you think you have these skills and wish to apply for the residency programme you must be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon and be eligible for full Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). 

A minimum of twelve months experience working as a qualified Veterinary Surgeon in small animal private practice in the UK is essential. We expect that candidates will have completed a minimum of a one year rotating internship.
