Closing date

Based within our busy Emergency and Critical Care Service at the Hospital for Small Animals at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, this one-year ECC internship is the perfect launching pad for those considering further clinical training in this field, as well as those wishing to return to private practice.

ECC interns will gain extensive clinical experience in managing critically ill patients whilst working alongside board-certified specialists in ECC. The successful applicant will work a combination of days, evenings and weekends within a well-equipped Intensive Care Unit.

The veterinary school has a strong tradition of research, and ECC interns are encouraged to pursue research under the guidance of a mentor. We boast a thriving programme of continuing education within the hospital, including dedicated weekly ECC journal clubs. ECC interns also have the
opportunity for electives, which may be spent gaining further clinical or research experience within the veterinary school or undertaking externships elsewhere.

Candidates should have experience of emergency practice and/or rotational internship, and must be a member of RCVS and have appropriate English language qualifications at the time of interview. The internship start date is 24th June 2019.

Informal enquiries should be directed to Emily Thomas at vetservices@ed.ac.uk.

The closing date for applications is 1st March 2019.
