Chester Caldy Vets4Pets

Surgery Information / Job Description

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon looking for your next opportunity? Would you like to work in a practice where you’ll be rewarded for your hard work and actively encouraged to develop? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

Our well-established Chester Caldy practice has a fantastic opportunity for a confident Vet to join our friendly team. Located just off the A55 Chester ring road, we are easily accessible from North Wales, Manchester and Liverpool, and close to many motorway networks.

You’ll be joining a Gold standard Cat Friendly Practice, boasting an exceptional range of equipment including digital radiography, excellent quality ultrasound scanner and therapeutic laser. We are also fully equipped for orthopaedic and advanced soft tissue surgery, meaning we are in a position to accept a small number of surgical referrals. This provides us with a very interesting and varied caseload. Additionally, we benefit from a steady stream of rabbit neutering cases via the pets at home store. We see a majority of insured clients with an appreciation for a good standard of diagnostics and treatment plans.

Our partner Emma Hall, qualified from Liverpool in 2005 and is an Advanced Practitioner in Surgery. Emma leads an experienced and supportive team of 2 vets, 3 RVNs, 1 SVN, 1 VCA and 3 receptionists. Our team is still actively growing, so this is a perfect time to join us. If you are ready for a new challenge, the expertise within our team enables us to offer in-house training of laser and keyhole surgery as appropriate.

Person Specification

Our ideal new colleague will be confident in all routine surgeries. Ideally you will also have an interest in internal medicine and a level of ultrasonography experience. A willingness to see a small number of exotics would also be advantageous.

You will work 40 hours per week with 1 in 3 weekends, with no OOH.

Benefits

We have a generous CPD allowance which we encourage our colleagues to undertake, as well as the opportunity and support to pursue a certificate. We are passionate about offering all colleagues a good work-life balance.

As you would expect from the market leader in small animal veterinary care, we offer:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Excellent career opportunities and development due to our varied case load
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Generous CPD and funding of certificates for the right candidate
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS)
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards

If you share our passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare and great customer service and would like to join our team, we would love to hear from you.

We are an equal opportunities employer.
