Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our 24-hour hospital in Southend, Essex.

This role requires at least 3-4 years' experience, ideally with a surgical bias.

The successful candidate will be competent in orthopaedics including fracture repairs - experience within a hospital environment is also preferred.

About the practice;

Medivet Southend is a fantastic hospital equipped with three consult rooms, two theatres (including orthopaedic) separate cat and dog wards, ultrasound, digital x-ray, ICU, dentistry facilities, endoscopy, laser and CT coming soon!

This clinic is led by Branch Partners Oliver and Kathryn who between them hold certificates in endoscopy and endosurgery, and small animal medicine.

You will be joining a hard-working team of four vets, nine nurses and seven receptionists - we also have a dedicated night team to manage out-of-hour care for the both the hospital and the seventeen surrounding Medivet clinics.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing high volume, varied caseloads including regional referrals. Here, you will play a crucial part within the team, adding to their continued success!

The hospital is both a short drive to the Southend-on-Sea and Southend Central Station where you will find direct links into London. It's also situated a few minutes from Southend Airport.

This role offers a competitive salary, accommodation or £7.8k housing allowance, vehicle or £2.5k allowance, £1.5k CPD allowance plus 3 days CPD leave and in-house training, RCVS, VDS and BVA.

This role works to a 4-day rota with either 1:3 Sat/Sun or 1:6 full weekends.
